Public Safety, Police, and the 2nd Amendment

The 2nd Amendment right to protect our life, liberty, family, and property has been guaranteed to every American citizen since our nation’s founding.

As chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military & Veterans Affairs and State Police, Rep. Glenn will fight to ensure that law-abiding Americans continue to be free to exercise their Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Annette also supports the brave police officers and sheriff’s deputies in Bay and Midland counties who protect and serve our communities. She firmly opposes radical demands to “defund” our state and local police.

  • Rep. Glenn also believes our schools should be upgraded with better security measures to keep our children safe — including door-barricading devices and allowing trained police officers or veterans to be present to protect children.
  • She voted to invest an additional $10 million in schools to help protect students from violence.
  • She also voted to safeguard the rights of law-abiding citizens, such as removing criminal penalties for an unintentionally expired “concealed carry” license.
  • She introduced legislation, passed by the state House, prohibiting local units of government from using tax dollars to pay gun owners to turn in their firearms, unfairly competing with local gun shops.
