Mlive — Nassar-inspired bills to revoke medical licenses of convicted sexual abusers pass Michigan House

The Michigan House voted out three more bills aimed at rectifying issues brought to light by the Larry Nassar sexual abuse case Wednesday, including legislation to permanently revoke the medical licenses of doctors convicted of sexual abuse.

House Bills 4372, 4373 and 4378 are the latest bills brought forward in the aftermath of the Nassar investigation to pass with wide majorities in the Michigan House.

If signed into law, 4372 and 4373, sponsored by Reps. Annette Glenn, R-Midland, and Daire Rendon, R-Lake City, would require the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to permanently revoke the license of a health professional convicted of sexual misconduct under the pretext of medical treatment…(read more)
